Our second project of spring

April 12th, 2013 by admin

Our second project in progress this spring is construction of a new patio next to the swimming pool of this contemporary home in Mt. Cuba, Delaware. Last fall the front and sides of the house got all new plantings to replace the tired, deer eaten ones. The customer has always wanted a place to entertain that takes advantage of the spectacular view overlooking the hills and valleys of woodlands, and the three acre pond we constructed a few years ago. The challenge was to find a way to install a patio with the existing extremes of topography. But to White Oak, no challenge is too great! Take a look at how we’re handling it. 2013.04.10BoucherPopel009c2013.04.10BoucherPopel0102013.04.10BoucherPopel011

First project this spring

April 12th, 2013 by admin

Our first project of this spring is a hardscape and landscape around a charming English Tudor style home in Centreville. The owners have just added two additions onto the house and with that came the need for a total exterior re-do. The most significant part of the project is the large cobblestone parking courtyard that you see in the pictures. 2013.04.10BoucherPopel0042013.04.10BoucherPopel0022013.04.10BoucherPopel0052013.04.10BoucherPopel0032013.04.10BoucherPopel001

Welcome to the world of White Oak Landscapes. By following our blogs you will witness our jobs in progress, and watch through pictures as our crews install incredible landscapes from day one through completion. I’ll describe the progress and the how’s and why’s of what we’re doing. You’ll get a glimpse of how we do what we do, and get to see the attention to the details that go into our projects.

We will also be posting about interesting landscape related topics. Check in to see what’s next to bloom in the garden and see pictures and descriptions of interesting kinds of plants you can have in your garden. I’ll spotlight people I meet and places I go that inspire me.

I want to educate you about ways to enhance the appearance of your property and protect what you have, give you ideas of how to get more pleasure from your own outdoor living spaces, and get you excited about the plant world. You will get a glimpse of what goes through the mind of a landscape designer.

Welcome to my world. I hope you enjoy the tour.
